Trade Planner-A full stack application

It all started with a clumsy set of papers with many strategies not knowing which works the best and which does not

The idea of organising everything and getting it all together brought rise to this application.

What started as a personal challenge turned into a rewarding adventure.
It all started with a clumsy set of strategies knowing it works or not and when to apply them or not...so I created this application which allows me to enter the data, edit the data, view the data and delete the data it also allows you to categorize it according to the label/days of the week.
The road was bumpy, with plenty of downs, but each obstacle was a lesson in disguise. Diving into Docker was a game-changer, teaching me the essence of containerization. 🐳

This application also consists of an inbuilt calendar, an inbuilt YouTube video view, and a link to the Option chain which is used by many trades in India.

Tech Stack:

Talking about the tech stack...at first when I heard about this project from my client..I thought I could do this with the help of servlets ...but then I was wrong..it was a lot harder than I imagined and the persistence of data didn't work out that great.
So I went out to explore the other technologies available out there and got to know about Spring boot and hibernate working under the Maven repositories...which totally made sense..because Maven allows u to update your dependencies with ease. So my backend was fixed to hibernate...worked on it for a week and got my requirements set. So here I could easily manage my data as well

The next part was the front end, I decided to use React but not the classical one..instead the Vite tech which was lightweight and fast. And For the components the use of Material Ui was very helpful React Bootstrap also helped me to enhance the design. Talking about design...since I'm a UI/UX designer...i designed the application on my own as well. Which gave me a total idea of how the app should look like. I can't say that the app came out exactly the same since i m a beginner in full-stack development. But i could match 75% of the design... I'm Happy about that great progress.

To deliver this project to my client, I tried to host it using render..but for some reason, it didn't work out so well... that's when I decided to use docker and after I hosted them in the docker hub, I could pull the images and make it work in my client's system.

Using Docker for this project was the bumpiest road I could say...Let us say I completed the application in a week..the dockerizing part took me the other 2 weeks...seeking help from YouTube and Google and after uploading it in the docker hub i could say i successfully completed the project.

It was indeed an adventure containing sleepless nights on why I got this error and exciting nights on yayy!! I completed a major part of the project. The thrills and adrenaline rush in me was unexplainable..the clients were also happy with the product.

In a nutshell, the technologies I used are:

Visual Studio Code  | Eclipse (java)|Spring boot|Docker|DockerHub|Github|Claude ai|

Mysql|Figma|Vite js

That's all for this blog...keep exploring//keep enjoying until next time!
